Fall is Here!

October 2023

Fall is filled with colorful leaves, outdoor fun, and a chill in the air. There are also great things happening at ILS this fall, too!

At the very end of September, the PTL hosted a Fall Festival. This was an evening of fall fun- food trucks, face painting, games, and pumpkins. Thanks, PTL families, for all your time spent in putting this together! Early in October, we’ll participate in a McTeacher Night. Teachers will work at McDonald’s from 4:30-6:30pm and McDonald’s donates 15% of all sales back to Immanuel. We are thankful for this community partnership, and to the PTL for putting this fundraiser together!

Later in October, we will host our annual dinner auction. This evening event will be held at the Illinois Bank & Trust Pavilion at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford on October 20th. Tickets are still available, and we are always looking for more corporate sponsorships and/or donations! Contact Mr. Rogers at rrogers@immanuelknights.org if you are interested in attending.

Our students participated in the first round of NWEA MAP testing early in October. Students in grades kindergarten-eight take these tests three times throughout the school year. Teachers analyze this valuable data and work towards adjusting instruction to better meet students’ needs. Teachers will also attend the Northern Illinois District Educator’s Conference on our scheduled School Improvement Day.

It’s hard to believe that the first quarter of the school year is almost finished. We look forward to recognizing our students’ academic accomplishments through Honor Roll and High Honor Roll awards and Knights of the Spirit awards, this month, too.
