Give Thanks

November 2023

As we look towards Thanksgiving, we think of all the things we are thankful for. At Immanuel Lutheran, I am thankful for our superb faculty and staff, engaged families, and eager students.

The varsity volleyball team participates in the state volleyball tournament this month. Congratulations to Coach Preston and the entire team! Participation in this tournament is an honor. Basketball season also begins this month and we look forward to hosting a tournament at the end of November.

With the start of the second quarter of the school year, we offered three new elective classes in middle school. Students could choose from 2D Art, Problem Solving, or Hand Chimes. The students in the Hand Chimes class will participate in the 9:15 a.m. church service on Sunday, November 19. We look forward to hearing their praises! Our sewing club, Singing Knights choir, and Girl Scouts have been holding regular meetings too. There are many opportunities for students’ creativity to shine at ILS!

Finally, the fall book fair is held at the end of the month. This is expected to be a great opportunity for families to begin Christmas shopping. Be sure to watch for more information about the fair’s hours and volunteer opportunities.

It’s hard to imagine that we will soon begin the enrollment process for the 2024-25 school year. If you are interested in learning more about the school and scheduling a private tour, please contact the school office at 815-547-5346.
