The Council’s Purpose

The School Advisory Council shall contribute to the formation of operational policies, serve as a grievance panel, ensure due process in proceedings, assist the principal in processing tuition assistance, and participate in interviewing applicants for positions in the school.

As its name implies, the School Advisory Council advises and assists the principal; this body does not set policy. In accordance with our governance, the principal is responsible for developing and implementing policies for the school. The decisions made by the vestry of Immanuel Lutheran Church shall be final for the school. Meetings are generally held quarterly and at additional times as needed throughout the school year.

The Council Membership

The Council shall consist of three (3) members appointed by the principal with the concurrence of the senior pastor, and two (2) members appointed by the vestry. Council members will be appointed for three-year terms. Council members may be removed from their role if they do not adhere to the standards of Christian conduct and confidentiality.
